The movie follows the life story of Croatian war hero, General Ante Gotovina. It was filmed in various locations such as Zagreb, Šibenik and Livno. The movie was recorded in co-production of Kiklop film and HRT and it was supported by the Croatian Audiovisual Center. General was considered to be the most anticipated Croatian movies of all time. The premiere was at the grand opening of the 66th Pula Film Festival in 2019.
